Bryan P. Pechous, M.D. has practiced ophthalmology in Dubuque since 1989. Dr. Pechous has a special interest in small incision and refractive cataract surgery. His fellowship training in ophthalmic plastic surgery is unique in the Dubuque area.

Dr. Pechous is very active in the medical community. He serves as the Vice-President for Medical Affairs at Finley Hospital. He is a former Board member of the Finley Hospital, the Tri-State IPA and the Iowa Health System.He is a past-president of the Dubuque County Medical Society, the Finley Hospital Medical Staff and the Iowa Academy of Ophthalmology. He currently serves on the Iowa Medical Society Board of Trustees. He is past chair of the Iowa Medical Society delegation to The American Medical Association.

Paul A. Mahlberg, M.D. joined Ophthalmology, P.C. in July 1982.

Dr. Mahlberg is on the staff of Finley Hospital and Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. He has served as Chairman of the Surgery Department at Finley Hospital.

Dr. Mahlberg has qualified for the AMA Physicians’ Recognition Award for achievements in Continuing Medical Education for over twenty-five years.

Paul G. Pechous, M.D. is the founder of Ophthalmology P.C. He has practiced general ophthalmology in Dubuque since 1967. Dr. Pechous is a past president of the Dubuque County Medical Society. He has served as chief of the Finley Hospital surgical staff. He was a member of the Physicians’ Advisory Council for the Sisters of Mercy Health Corporation for nine years. He also served as President of the medical staff at Xavier and Mercy Hospitals.

Dr. Pechous practices ophthalmology on a part-time basis.
